¿Dónde vives?
¿Qué tal?
Extension: ¿Cómo se escribe, tu nombre? Y ¿otra información?
Various activites for WW1 in French lessons.
pg1 find the matching vocab' from Eng version of poem (might need to print larger version, plain)
pg2 reorder the French version of the poem; verses are in correct order but within verse the line order is wrong
pg3 poem written out in full. Some words in bold to look up with some groups!
pg4 propaganda from France: translate/discuss? Then do own. Some unfortunately from WW2 but too late now.
pg5 explanation of origin of poem for teacher reference
Simple Simpons' based family tree for Year 7. mother/father/brother/sister/grandma/granddad/aunt/uncle/cousin.
Includes "superlearner" extension task.
Print out or display on the IWB. Use the transcript (page 2) to make it a listening - read out or record or use text to speech online - copy and paste ;) Allow pupils access to it to make the worksheet a reading or to consolidate what gleaned from listening tasks. Some fairly advanced vocab' for some KS3 so some pre or post discussion/investigation by pupils might be required! Reflects style of FCSE assessments. The last question is just a reading and extension. Aimed at Level 5 FCSE.

Spanish Writing Assessment Preparation
KS3 Year 7
This resource comprises simple preparation with a framework for the first half term writing assessment over three pages.
How could I use this?
Use the first draft by translating the text above each line.
Next use the box to write their own version, changing the underlined words. Watch out for pitfalls e.g. masc/fem adj. endings etc.
Encourage superlearners to add more detail and all pupils should use the assessment criteria at the bottom to understand what they should be doing.
Use the second sheet once you’ve marked the first to improve/correct. Take this one home to learn.
The third sheet is the actual assessment.

**An introduction to Easter vocabulary in French for Year 7.
**
French Easter vocabulary: This is an 8 page booklet of basic French Easter vocabulary matching, colouring and puzzles with answers. It is appropriate as a stand-alone document to introduce Easter vocabulary. Alternatively, it could supplement your learning on festivals.
You can use each of the 8 sheets independently as needed within your lessons or print as an A4 booklet ready for your learners to work through. The booklet begins with a cover page to colour in to help settle your group. In-built differentiation or challenge working through the Easter booklet means that all children should be able to access the learning independently, allowing you to help those who most need it. It would therefore also work well as a **cover lesson. **
Vocabulary: BASIC Joyeuses Pâques, C’est Pâques, un lapin, une cloche, un (grand) œuf, un panier, des chocolats, une croix, un agneau, des tulipes, un poussin, une église, des jonquilles,
CHALLENGE un caneton, le soleil, l’herbe, les fleurs, les petits poussins, leurs vêtements, à votre choix, les coccinnelles, le champignon vénéneux, l’oiseau, le ciel, les feuilles.
This booklet is intended for Year 7 learners and helps them develop basic knowledge of Easter vocabulary in French. For extension and challenge, you could:
• Ask learners to write a paragraph about why they like or dislike Easter
• Say what they receive at Easter, what they do and where they go
• Prepare an Easter card for a friend, teacher or relative using their new vocabulary
• Make an Easter board game
• Write about why Easter is an important festival
• Research the differences between Easter in their country and France and write a summary in English or the TL.
If you find this resource useful, look for the whole pack of booklets with many more varieties of activities for Year 7 through to Year 11. Each booklet is different, so you’ll never need to look for Easter resources again.

The answer booklet needs updating but does have everything you need to know what’s what. Joyeuses Pâques!
A booklet aimed at Edexcel GCSE French speaking. Topic: cinema. After initial teacher input, use this booklet to build confidence in understanding current grades and how to improve speaking. Pupils will be working towards creating a conversation around arranging to go to the cinema. Contains Edexcel mark scheme (most of it!) highlighted plus activities including possible "surprise" questions and a mock stimulus. Credits: Have included "grade changers" from Rachel Hawkes which I found online.
French Distance Learning Pack (Personal Information)
Useful for cover, home learning, starter activities, revision or homework. **No prep’! This resource can stand alone and be accessed by learners independently. **
This 47 page distance learning pack is based on vocabulary from Studio 1 Unit 1, personal information: animaux/araignées/capoeira/chats/chiens/cinéma/consoles de jeux/danse/foot/gâteaux/opinions/hair/eyes/personality…) but would work well as a stand-alone resource as well.
Here’s a summary of what you get:

vocabulary list.
Reading, writing and comprehension tasks – see the contents page in the files section.

Easter booklets for Years 7-11
Pâques
This is a selection of booklets ranging from basic French Easter vocabulary matching, colouring and puzzles to higher level reading tasks further up the year groups. Each one has an accompanying answer booklet. Each booklet is usable as a stand-alone document for Easter activities. Alternatively, it could supplement your learning on Pâques.
You can use each of the sheets independently as needed within your lessons or print as an A4 booklet ready for your learners to work through. The booklet begins with a cover page to colour in to help settle your group. In-built differentiation or challenge working through the Easter booklet means that all children should be able to access the learning independently, allowing you to help those who most need it. It would therefore also work well as a cover lesson.
I would recommend black and white copies be lightened slightly as the coloured boxes can make the text a little harder to read than in colour.

Harking back to the FCSE. This was a handy sheet for level 4 revision… Now it would serve well as a good cover sheet if groups have covered the vocab’ I’ve put in the title. Even if they haven’t it would be a good dictionary worksheet for cover. Year 8 and possibly lower ability year 9.
